Fixing up a classic farm home requires careful consideration in order to preserve its character. Summit Roofing & Siding
replaced the roof on this charming Quakertown home, taking great care to protect the family while maintaining the home’s integrity. Located in a windy area, this home needed a roof that could endure the elements. The existing asphalt roofs on the home and detached garage were showing their age, and the dried curled shingles often caused leaks. To put an end to the leaking issues once and for all, we used premium underlayments, including ice and water shield in critical areas to prevent water infiltration, and a synthetic roofing felt. For a sturdy covering, we used Premium Lifetime Owens Corning Estate Gray Duration® shingles. The porch roof was in particularly poor condition, and required extensive repair once the old shingles were removed. We installed a new standing seam metal roof on the porch for durability and character. For added strength, the customer wanted a new six-inch oversized gutter system installed. Special gutter hangers were used to accommodate the contoured fascia so we could mount the new gutters and oversized downspouts. This Quakertown roofing project left these homeowners with a sturdy roof that will hold up to harsh conditions, yet upholds the appeal of their farmhouse.
