Damaged shingles and siding cause more problems than structural damage to your house. Sometimes, they're a serious eyesore! The Summit Roofing & Siding team was off to Hatfield to help a homeowner with roof and siding replacement on his house. After our full home inspection, we started off by tackling the roof. The shingles were old and had multiple patches from several quick fixes in the past. We know surface repairs like this just won't do when it comes to protecting your home long-term! In addition to damage caused by these partial repairs, the rear flat roof of the sun room had chronic leaking issues, as well as a leaking skylight. Summit installed premium underlayments along the roof, then replaced the old shingles with new Owens Corning Duration shingles in amber. The flat roof was replaced with a self-adhering bitumen asphalt membrane from Mule Hide in a beautiful color-matching chestnut color. We also replaced the skylights with brand new Velux units. No more leaks in that sun room! Once the roofing was complete, we moved on to the siding. In addition to being a preferred Owens Corning installer and a certified Mule Hide flat roof material installer, we are also certified Certainteed vinyl siding installers! We removed the old, damaged wood board and batton siding, and replaced it with brand new Certainteed vinyl siding. We made sure the shutters and front door were paint-matched to the color of the siding used to complete this project! As a finishing touch, we re-capped the garage doors to seal in the space. Driving down the block, you'd think the house was brand new! And all for a price that didn't blow the budget! Making the exterior of your home more aesthetically pleasing with roof and siding replacement can also extend the life of the structure!
